The Introduction

Hi, My name is Kandarp Gautam aka. Kandy. I identify myself as a passionate individual, a seeker of the truth, justice and progress. I work on things that give my life meaning and a purpose.

I am not someone who wants to barely survive paycheck to paycheck. Life is to live, explore and enjoy existence with the ones you love and care for.

And it might sound unrealistic to people but mere survival is not the purpose of life. It is not something that makes you want to "Thrive" or be a "Better version of yourself". I believe one must have "The core beliefs" that guide them through the rollercoaster ride of life, The UPs and the DOWNs, The successes and the failures.

The Core Beliefs

What separates me from the herd is that most people do not know their "Why?".
Why should you be paid more? Why go to a dead-end job from 9 to 5? Why waste 2 to 4 hours of your day travelling? Why end up in a spot where you rely on a pension for your survival after retiring?

Simply most individuals do not think at all which makes them part of this braindead herd walking towards the end of their lives, without exploring their purpose, their passions and ways in which they can contribute to the progress of humanity.

Their end goal is just to be wealthy somehow and they will never be wealthy because they do not even know what wealth is. Is wealth money? Is wealth having a family? Is wealth how healthy you are? Is wealth living a long life? what is wealth to you?

Stop this never-ending chase, I am not part of this rat race.

As long as you do not figure out your "Why", it doesn't matter if you end up being rich, you will be questioning if you lived a life that was "worth living". I insist you to not waste your life in petty things and think about what gives your life meaning. Because Having a well-crafted life is the only way to live a happy and fulfilling life.

True happiness is simply being the best version of yourself.

The Man of Value

I believe to live a happy life one doesn't have to be rich. The one must fulfil the purpose they give themselves. Being rich cannot be the purpose of life. It is just a reward system developed by humans to reward what is useful and needed by the people. I believe one must be financially stable enough, to be free of the struggle of survival so one can focus more on how one can make the world a better place. One must become "The Man of Value".

You can only be valuable when you contribute to society in some way. Everything else will collapse tomorrow if not today. If you do not know how then just see the differences between a developed society and a developing society and fill the gap in whatever way you can with your knowledge, skills and available resources. As a famous quote says,

In Chaos, There's an opportunity.

Your "Journey" to success begins when you start to have the questions rather than take the answers that the world is trying to give you.

The Journey

More often than not I am perceived as an egotistical, overconfident person who believes that he deserves more even if there are no achievements or visible results.
I am well aware that I have a rigid personality and I am hard to deal with. However, it is just what a judgemental person sees on the surface.

My journey had lots of ups and downs just like everyone else's but the reason I want to mention this is because most people are quick to judge. A resume, a CV or your portfolio cannot define who you are. What defines you is your journey, and where you want to be. So here is my journey from the very start.

I have always been an introverted person, full of self-doubt, and anxiety. I often struggled with motivation and lack of self-confidence. From being made fun of not being able to speak English well enough to getting belittled by people who had no better thing to do, In all this chaos my purpose was always "Self Improvement".

I did not know how to speak English well enough, so I interacted with people worldwide to get better at it. I loved music, but I did not know how to sing or play guitar until I was in 12th standard. I wasn't even good at coding, It's something I got better at with time and by working with people and on open-source projects.

Since the 9th standard, I had lots of hobbies and interests such as poetry, songwriting, playing guitar, singing, composing music using FL Studio or LMMS, blogging, video editing and compositing using Adobe Premier Pro or DaVinci Resolve, motion graphic design using Adobe After effects, photo editing using Photoshop or Pixlr, etc. I always felt fascinated by the technology and it started with playing video games, running games made for different platforms using emulators and then hacking video games using software called CheatEngine.

From exploring different software to improve overall experience and workflow To running different operating systems (Kali Linux, KDE neon, Mint Os, ubuntu, windows, etc) on the same machine via Dual Boot, persistent LIVE USB or virtualization software such as VirtualBox or VMWare Workstation.

From writing my first stopwatch Windows application in Visual Basic to exploring things such as robotics, web development, game development using Unity, and tinkering with micro-controllers such as Arduino and esp32 and using the same to make Home Automation POC as a Final year project in Bachelor in computer applications.

Simply things I have tried and explored in the tech space, cannot be mentioned in the CV or resume but they define what I have done differently from most of the people who are just in the tech space for money or a comfortable lifestyle.

I have explored languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Python, CSharp, PHP, Bash, etc. After exploring all the above and much more, I chose to become a Dotnet Developer.

The chosen path to make an Impact

The way I chose to make a dent or impact is by helping the world by providing some products or services to make their lives easier. I believe software has the potential to transform our world from chaos to more organised and functional systems.

The Software can help in the following ways:

  1. Standardizing the processes.

  2. Managing the data that is important for the business.

  3. Generating Statistical data based on raw information that we collect can help you make calculated business decisions.

  4. It can help you build Trust with your customers and can give your business trustworthiness.

  5. Can help in finding and targeting your market audience better.

  6. Or integrate with existing infrastructure or electronics such as robots, machinery, vehicles, banking, aeronautics, etc.

The sky is the limit (maybe!). These are some of how software can help a business and that's what makes software powerful and a backbone for a business to deliver quality with higher throughput.

Simply if there is a business that is running profitably with the business model sorted. The software can make a global reach and exponential impact. This is not visible upfront but think about how a video call, voice call, email, etc connect people who might be sitting on opposite sides of the world. This advancement of technology is so underestimated and most of these come at zero cost to everyone who has the internet. Software and Technology are life-changing and so I believe I can channel my skills and knowledge into a product or service that can help humanity.

The code can surely make a difference.

The Impact

Still, The impact or result matters more than the journey for the world. And so here I want to mention a few initiatives I took on a personal level to make this world a little bit better than how I found it.

  1. Riven Pieces [ 2.6K+ Followers ]
The main purpose of helping them with motivational quotes to deal with life challenges with a future scope to transition to making it a News and media website to generate income via Google AdSense to fund this initiative.

  2. Kandy [2.09K+ subscribers]
This is where I post my guitar covers, Vlogs, Funny videos, Edits, etc.
with more than 1.1M views, and 9.8K watch time (in hours). A channel for those who want to know more about me beyond my career as a software engineer.

  3. CyberSpace
This is the community channel where I make educational content and programming tutorials which I think would help someone someday walking on the same path as me.

Let's Conclude

There is a lot I could talk about. There are lots of things on my bucket list as I constantly seek ways to have a net positive impact on this world. I like to think of myself as a person who wants to positively influence the world in different ways and in whatever way I possibly can. For some, it might mean a lack of commitment but for me, it means I go where I am needed.

Some might say:

A jack of all trades is a master of none.

which is somewhat true and sounds logical,
But the whole saying goes something like:

A jack of all trades is a master of none,
but oftentimes better than a master of one.

Life is to explore, And I will take that chance to learn new things,
and have new experiences, despite failures and successes. My exploration is not limited to doing well in my career but doing well in life.

Either way, In reality, we have nothing to lose except time!๐Ÿ•›
So we must make the most out of it.
